How it teaches

Practice that adapts to your child

Mathing is built on simple ideas that work: small steps, pictures before symbols, and short practice that comes back at the right time.

Missed facts come back

When your child misses a fact, it returns in later games, then again a little later, until it is mastered. This is called spaced practice, a strategy recommended in a U.S. Department of Education practice guide.

No timers. No losing.

Nobody races a clock. A wrong answer gets a gentle “So close!” and another try, and a hint glows after two misses. Kids stay calm, keep going and finish every level.

Counting dots for beginners

Early levels show the problem as dots, so a four-year-old can count to the answer. As numbers grow, the pictures fade away and the strategies take over.

Pre-K to 4th grade

Levels climb from sums to 5 to two-digit carrying and borrowing, every times table to 12 and division facts, in the order schools teach them.

The Mathing grown-ups area: a progress report showing first-try accuracy, problems solved, facts mastered, minutes this week and a facts map

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is Mathing?

Mathing is a math game for kids ages 4–10 on iPhone and iPad. It turns addition, subtraction, times tables and division practice into an amusement park with four rides, five carnival booth games and 80 plush prizes to win, hosted by Toco the Toucan.

What ages and grades is Mathing for?

Mathing is designed for children ages 4 to 10, roughly Pre-K through 4th grade. Each zone starts with very small numbers and counting-dot pictures, then grows step by step to two-digit sums with carrying, subtraction with borrowing, the times tables up to 12 and division facts.

When will Mathing be available?

Mathing is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone and iPad. In the meantime you can play the free demo right in your browser.

How much does Mathing cost?

Mathing is a subscription app with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers. One subscription covers up to 4 kids on the same device. Plans and prices are shown in the App Store before you subscribe, and you can cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.

Does Mathing have ads or collect data?

No. Mathing has no ads, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. It does not collect any personal information; your child’s progress is saved only on your device. Read the full privacy policy.

Does Mathing work offline?

Yes. Once it is installed, every level, booth game and prize works without an internet connection, so it is perfect for car rides and flights.

Are there timers? What happens when my child gets an answer wrong?

There are no timers and kids never lose. A wrong answer gets a gentle “So close!” and another try, a hint appears after two misses, and that fact comes back in later games until it sticks.

Can siblings share Mathing?

Yes. You can add up to 4 child profiles on one device. Each child has their own levels, prizes and progress report in the grown-ups area.
